Old style cartoon design

Let’s start with the aged cartoon drawing classes from many years ago. People often refer to this cartoon type as “Fleischer Cartoons” as Fleischer Studios widely used the art style. These creative types are black and white and with very high distinction body parts most of the time. This style is also distinguished by usually including short bodies and long stems. Some people call this drawing style (and hence animation) of noodle creations. Since the components and portions, the whole exercise, the character moved a lot as if there were no bones in their bodies.

Some samples of this comic illustration style are:

• Betty Bop

Here are some better pictures of this exact funny drawing art style! On a side note, some contemporary video plays have worked to bring that art style back into the current area. For example, in the videotape play Cup head, cartoons like Betty Bop STRONGLY influence the skilled technique. Here are some examples of Cup head’s skill technique. You can see where the Cup head artists got their inspiration from!

Modern cartoon style

This is one of the most typical art styles on a channel like Cartoon Network.

In general, the main features of this artistic style are the thick outlines, the very geometric shapes, and the colorful colors. One of the leading causes for making art this way is that using simple forms with few elements makes the energy process quicker and saves studios money. However, it’s a nice cartoon in the art style!

Several modern cartoons have popularized this art style; here are some examples:

• Gravity falls

• The Power puff Girls

•  Kids next door

• Dexter’s laboratory

Here are some sample images of a modern cartoon art style.

Realistic cartoon style

As in public cartoon drawing, a special cartoon style facilitates shapes; realistic cartoon style adds fact and keeps shapes in line with reality. This art style is largely seen by artists who victory photos of people. To some extent, you can also include Travesties in this type. Caricatures are typically very practical, plus the entire growth and shrinkage of specific body parts!

  • Ugly Americans
  • General caricatures

Japanese cartoon styles

Japanese cartoon art classes grow to be very distinct from their Western partners.

I have decided to divide it into three different specific art styles as they are quite different. I can split it into multiple parts, but I don’t want to fill this article with just Japanese cartoon styles!

Classic manga

Older Japanese manga characters tend to have very human proportions when it comes to their bodies, the only difference being that they have fairly large eyes most of the time. This art class also focuses on more feminine bodies in public, with very angular minds and lean bodies. Some styles would even exaggerate certain body parts, such as very long legs, compared to the rest of the body!

Chili drawings finally, here’s a style I love to work with. The chili illustration class is what you can visit in my articles, and I watch to use a “mini” character as a mascot to help me deliver some techniques, like in my beginner art composition post! This art style focuses on transforming your characters into tiny versions of themselves. As if you were compacting them into a very small container.

  • Some examples of series using this chili style of drawing are Himont! Umaru-chan
  • Good star
  • Bottle Fairy

And here is a model sample of this cartoon drawing art class.

Minimalist cartoon art styles

The minimalist cartoon style is mostly seen in video games and tends to appreciate the overall style or save time! Since these watches to be politely simplistic, they also manage to be faster to create and, more importantly, faster to animate. Often, this cartoon drawing style is done with vector graphics. It is also mostly geometric and with pure colors without much detail.
