Faith Renée Jordan
Faith Renée Jordan is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She was born in Lakeland, Florida, and raised in New Jersey, Evans relocate to Los Angeles in 1991 for a career in the music business. She is now a part of the team at EMI Music Publishing. Her music has been featured in major motion pictures and television shows. She is a member of the Music Producers Guild and is the former president of the Gospel Music Association.
During her formative years, Jordan had a very difficult time trying to find her identity. Her parents divorced when she was very young, and Faith often found herself moving from one place to another, trying to fit in wherever she could. In an interview with Essence magazine, Jordan said that she used music as a way to express herself: “I grew up in an environment where I didn’t have much support… I needed something to get me through it—and music did that.”
The Years 1957-1991
Faith Renée Jordan was born on January 25, 1957 in Lakeland, Florida. Her mother’s name is Etta Jordan and her father’s name is Gregory Edward Jordan. Faith has one brother and two sisters. Her family moved to New Jersey when she was young for her father to pursue a career in the military. In New Jersey she attended elementary school and high school. Faith had a very difficult time growing up because of her parents’ divorce when she was 8 years old forcing Faith to deal with the pains of being an orphan at a young age.
She was raised by her grandparents who were not able to provide the support that Faith needed during this time of hardship in her life. Faith started singing at an early age and used music as an outlet to express herself. Faith’s mother remarried when she was 12 years old, and her step-father was very abusive and would not allow Faith to sing or play any instruments. Faith did not have a good relationship with her step-father, but she maintained a good relationship with her mother. Faith’s family moved around a lot during the course of her life.
Career and Early Life
She has lived in New Jersey, Texas, and Maryland. Faith attended the University of Maryland where she graduated with a degree in Psychology. In the year 2000 Faith began her professional music career. She was discovered by a talent scout and signed to Atlantic Records. Faith released her first album entitled “Faith” in 2001, which sold over 2 million copies worldwide.
Her second album “The First Lady” was released in 2003 and sold 1 million copies worldwide. Her third album “The Breakthrough” was released in 2005 and sold 7 million copies worldwide. Faith’s fourth album “This is Me… Then” was released on November 14, 2005 and sold 2 million copies worldwide. Faith Evans net worth is $15 million.

In December 2007, Faith announced that she was working on her fifth studio album, which was almost completed. In an interview with “Billboard” magazine, Faith stated that the album would be released in 2008. However, the album’s release date was pushed back several times and it was never released. In 2009, Faith announced she had left Atlantic Records due to creative differences and would now release music through her own label entitled “Fantasia World Entertainment”.
The first single from the project is a collaboration with rapper Lil’ Kim entitled “Take Me Back”. On October 20, 2010, a song titled “Trouble” leaked onto the Internet featuring R&B singer Chris Brown. The song has been confirmed
Faith’s sixth album “Lost and Found” was released on November 21, 2009 and sold 1 million copies worldwide. Her seventh album “A Mary Christmas” was released on October 12, 2010. Her eighth studio album “Something about Faith” was released on May 7, 2014. Faith has appeared in a number of television shows and movies including “The Parkers” in 2002, “The Fighting Temptations” in 2003, “Kingdom Come” in 2006 and “House Arrest” in 2008. She also made guest appearances on the television shows “Strong Medicine” and “All of Us”.
