Texas Health Steps and CHIP
Most children and young adults age 20 and younger who are covered by Medicaid or CHIP receive dental services through a dental managed care plan. The following three dental plans offer services statewide for Children’s Medicaid (Texas Health Steps) and CHIP members who qualify for dental coverage.

Case Management for Children and Pregnant Women can help pregnant women who are at high risk for health problems during pregnancy. If you have Medicaid, contact a case manager in your region to see if you qualify for services. A case manager can help you find dental services.

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)
Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), also known as community health centers, provide comprehensive health care services to communities most in need. Many of the Texans they help are homeless or lack health insurance. Some of these FQHCs offer additional services, such as dental, mental health, or substance abuse treatment.

Title V Maternal and Child Health Fee-for-Service Program
The Title V program is for low-income women and children who are not eligible for Medicaid, CHIP, or other payer coverage for the same services. People under the age of 21 can receive dental services. Pregnant women can also receive these services up to three months after giving birth.
